As the Stanley Cup Playoffs approach, we find ourselves one week from the NHL trade deadline. With different teams looking to buy or sell, I will go over the two biggest moves of the week and what may be more in store.

Saturday morning saw the Colorado Avalanche add defensemen Ryan Lindgren and winger Jimmy Vesey in exchange for left side defensemen Calvin de Haan and Jusso Parssinen. The deal also included two picks from Colorado and one prospect from New York. Colorado looks to shore up their bottom pairing defense, and their bottom 6 wingers in one swing. Both players have playoff experience too which likely added to their attractiveness.
Saturday night saw star defenseman Seth Jones gets dealt to Florida in a blockbuster deal including young rising star goaltender Spencer Knight going to Chicago along with a first-round pick. Florida hot off a Stanley cup victory was looking for a top 2-4 defensemen and they land it here. Chicago looks to build more for the future and Knight will likely help the cause.
As we get closer to the deadline, look for potential moves of center Jared Mccan in Seattle, Brock Nelson in New York, and potentially a stunning double move of Mikko Rantanen if he does not sign his contract with Carolina.
